What God Tells Me About the People He Entrusted to Us

Reflection
God places people in our care. Sometimes it’s clear—our children, families, or those who openly seek our guidance. Other times it’s subtle: the coworker with unspoken struggles, the customer who is more than just a transaction, or even a stranger whose path crosses ours for a single moment.
But here’s the deeper truth: it is not enough to recognize who is entrusted to us—we must also learn to see them through God’s eyes. Too often, we filter people through our own emotions: how they frustrate us, how they drain us, or how much effort they require. Yet God calls us higher. He does not ask us to see people as they are to us, but as they are to Him—His beloved children.
And if God feels a certain way about them, what right do we have to feel differently? What right do we have to judge, dismiss, or withhold compassion? To do so is to forget that we ourselves are lifted daily by God’s mercy.
The people in our care are not ours to measure—they are God’s, and He entrusts them to us with purpose. When He places someone in our path, He also equips us with the tools, the patience, and the grace to uplift them. Not in our own strength, but in His.
So pause today and ask: Am I looking at those in my care through my own weary eyes, or through God’s eyes of love? Do I treat them as my burden, or as God’s beloved whom I have the honor to serve?
Scripture
"The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for Me.’"
— Matthew 25:40
Leadership Principle
A leader’s greatest discipline is learning to see others not as they appear, but as God sees them. Stewardship demands humility—laying down our judgments and emotions to embrace God’s perspective. True leadership is not defined by how we feel about people, but by how faithfully we honor God’s call to uplift them.
Prayer
Lord, open my eyes to see those in my care the way You see them. Strip away my judgments and frustrations, and replace them with Your compassion. Remind me that every soul You entrust to me is Your child. Give me the strength to lead, to serve, and to uplift—not out of my own feelings, but out of obedience to Your love. Amen.
A Father’s Blessing
To all who read this—
May you learn to look upon the people entrusted to you with the eyes of God. May your heart be softened when it wants to harden, your patience extended when it wants to shrink, and your compassion poured out when it wants to dry up. For every person in your care is God’s child, and your calling is not to judge, but to uplift. May your leadership reflect His love, and may those you serve see His face in you.
