Prayer
Dear Lord,
Today we count our blessings. Every day above ground, every breath, every chance to see and be a part of the great design You have placed before us is both an honor and a blessing.
You have entrusted so much to our care, Lord, yet so often we forget. What is before us is not meant to be divided, split, or torn down, but nurtured, uplifted, and cared for with love.
These last few weeks have weighed heavily on us. We have witnessed violence, hatred, and voices of division that seem louder each day. The world feels on edge, as if it is drawing closer to chaos. But in the middle of it all, we remember: evil is not the majority. The 10% of bad seeds spreading lies and destruction do not hold the power—unless we hand it to them.
So, Father, help us turn away from feeding what is destructive. Unite us instead in building, healing, and uplifting. Help us empower one another. May we be the people who refuse to give darkness a foothold and instead shine light wherever You send us.
Help us, Lord, to remember perspective—one of the greatest gifts of all. Teach us to pause and look through Your eyes, and through the eyes of others, not only our own. Remind us of those who face real loss, real tragedy, and daily struggles we may never understand.
Open our eyes to the abundance we overlook—the safety and comfort so many of us take for granted. And with that perspective, stir us with courage. Move us to carry that abundance outward toward those who lack it, toward those who suffer, toward those who cry out to You for help, strength, and guidance.
Remind us that when You bless us with more, we are called to be the answers to those prayers. Help us hear the cries of the weary and respond not with indifference, but with compassion. May our lives reflect Your love as we uplift, share, and strengthen those who need it most.
And finally, Lord, we close with gratitude. So often we forget to be thankful for what we already have—great and small. Simply waking up and opening our eyes is the greatest gift there is. To bear witness to the world around us, to be part of Your story one more day, is itself a miracle. Every sunrise, every breath, every chance to live, love, and walk with You is a continuation of that blessing. Lord, let us never forget: the gift of today is the greatest gift of all.
Amen.
